We're
Achieving Community Successes... Since 1986 we have helped make it possible for hundreds of youth at risk to use popular theatre to overcome many of the issues that block their development. Issues such as substance abuse, family violence, prostitution, suicide, racism, and other critical aspects of their social environment were and still are explored through the narrative power of popular theatre.
The goal of our programming is to foster in youth a sense of independence and responsibility, empowering them to become active, constructive members of our community.
Through their stories, youth direct their own development. They show us what they need and we do our best to gather the resources. This process has guided our development from our first drama meetings in community agencies and schools to the creation of Inner City High School. Youth succeed in Inner City High School because of the support provided in the Inner City Youth Support
Programs.
