Since 1993 over thirty former street youth or youth designated as “youth at risk” have
graduated from Inner City High School, many others have, after taking part in Inner City programming, returned to traditional
schools, or are now self-supporting members of the community. |

In 1997 Inner City director, Joe Cloutier completed a 7 year narrative study on the how poverty and other social problems impacted the lives of Edmonton’s inner city youth. This study is available through the
University Of Alberta. |

In 1998 Beating The Streets, a documentary about the work of the Inner City Youth Development Association, was produced by Lorna Thomas and Canada’s
National Film Board (NFB).
The film aired nationally on
CBC. The NFB makes Beating The Streets available to organizations across the country through the NFB distribution network and public
libraries. |

In 1998 the Inner City Youth Development Association was nominated and among the finalists for The City Of Edmonton’s
Smart City
Award. |

In 1999 Inner City director Joe Cloutier accepted The City Of Edmonton’s
Award For Excellence in recognition of the Inner City Youth Development Association’s work with Edmonton’s “youth at risk.” |

In 2000 Inner City director Joe Cloutier accepted The University Of Alberta’s Alumni Award in recognition of the Inner City Youth Development Association’s work with Edmonton’s “youth at risk.” |

In 2001 The Inner City Youth Development Association formed a partnership with
Native Counselling Services of Alberta. The partnership consists of assistance with program delivery. |
